The public is welcomed to join the General Meeting of the Hawai`i County League of Women Voters on Saturday, April 16th, 2022, from 10 a.m. Guest speaker Charles "Chuck" Greenfield, Esq., will present on "Civil Justice in America: Equal Justice for All, or Only for Some?"
Mr. Greenfield will discuss the state of justice in Hawai`i and nationally, in civil matters. Who has access to an attorney and the judiciary? Does the lack of access to an attorney result in a denial of justice? What can be done to improve this critical situation?
Mr. Greenfield has served as Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, American Samoa Legal Aid, and Legal Services of Northern Virginia.
We will also recognize the winner of the 2022 League of Women Voters of Hawai`i County Award at the Hawai`i History Day Fair for Hawai`i Island. This is the third year the League is presenting this award for an outstanding project demonstrating civic engagement, advocacy, and voter education in the strengthening of democracy and transparency.

Those attending in person should plan to arrive by 9:45 a.m. at the site, Unitarian Universalist of Puna, 15-1791 14th Ave., Hawaiian Paradise Park.
