Phew, our first stand out in a while with uncomfortable weather, very hot and humid. But while our number was small for our 70th protest for democracy, the seven samurai held their signs high and proudly!
Together, even 10 of us can make an impact. “Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts...and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.”
Fourteen folks fighting for freedom of speech, assembly and press, just to name a few. We have had amazing weather for our stand outs, which we take as a hopeful sign. Next week, our 69th, same patriot time, same patriot place!
July 18th, 2026. Our 67th Stand Out was a nice day, not too hot, started with 3 stalwarts, and slowly folks started to join us, 15 in all. Many regular faces, some new faces, and some welcome-back faces.
The weather wasn't quite as hot as we thought, standing under the shady trees helped. But, 20 of us were hot to Stand Out for Democracy! Lots of positive responses. I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth.
