Every eligible U.S. citizen has the right to cast a ballot freely and fairly - without fear of intimidation. It is a federal crime for anyone – including federal, state, and local officials – to intimidate, threaten, or interfere with the right of eligible U.S. citizens to vote. Federal law prohibits the presence of armed federal agents at the polls.
If you witness voter intimidation:
- Report it to the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
