LWV Members - Volunteer of the Year

Joey Jordan is a retired nonpartisan political consultant and fundraising professional. A 30-year Nevada County  resident,  she joined the League of Women Voters in 2011 and served on the Board for more than a decade in various positions, including membership chair and, most recently, outreach coordinator. Last year, Joey lead Election year efforts by organizing more than 20 League tabling events where many voters were registered and valuable information was provided to our community.

Every eligible U.S. citizen has the right to cast a ballot freely and fairly - without fear of intimidation. It is a federal crime for anyone – including federal, state, and local officials – to intimidate, threaten, or  interfere with the right of eligible U.S. citizens to voteFederal law prohibits the presence of armed federal agents at the polls.
 
If you witness voter intimidation:
  • Report it to the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
LA Charter Commission

The Los Angeles City Charter Commission is tasked with reviewing the City Charter and developing recommendations for amendments and revisions for consideration by the City Council and Mayor.
