    This article and forum from 2023 is a little outdated - not because the issue has gone away, but because it has become more threatening to our immigrant community.
    The situation it describes - immigrants being detained for extended periods - is still occurring.
    The backlog and long delays in obtaining legal status, and ultimately citizenship, has gotten worse.
    And immigrants are being threatened with deportation without due process.
