What is AVR?  It’s a simplified method for registering voters when they interact with a government agency.  With AVR, when an eligible citizen interacts with an agency like the BMV to apply for a new or updated driver’s license or ID, the citizen will be automatically registered to vote unless they affirmatively decline.  And, importantly, the person’s identifying information will be electronically transferred to the Board of Elections.
