November 4, 2025 Election

November 2025 General Election Voting Information

Are you registered to vote in Ohio? 

Check the status of your voter registration at VoteOhio.gov and update your voter registration if you’ve had a change of address or name

To register to vote you must provide:

●    Last 4 digits of your social security number or 
●    Ohio driver's license number or 
●    Ohio state ID

NOTE: If you register to vote online, you will need last 4 digits of SSN AND an Ohio driver’s license or Ohio state ID.

To register to vote you must:

  • Be US citizen
  • Be 18 years old on or before Election Day
  • Have lived in Ohio for at least 30 days

You can register to vote online or by mail

  • Register online at olvr.ohiosos.gov with your last 4 of SSN and Ohio drivers license or state ID number or
  • Download and complete a voter registration form HERE, and return it to the Summit County Board of Elections, or
  • Get a voter registration form from the Summit County Board of Elections, public library, high school, Job & Family Services office, or BMV office. Return it to the Summit County Board of Elections.

There are 3 ways to vote in Ohio

Choose one that works for you 

Vote absentee ballot (mail in ballot)

 

  • Request a mail ballot now! The Summit County Board of Elections (BOE) must receive your request by no later than October 28.
  • Return your ballot ASAP by mail (postmarked by Nov. 3) or to the Summit County Board of Elections official drop box, or in person inside the Board of Elections (by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day).

Vote early in person:

October 7 - November 2

  • Must show current Photo ID
  • Early voting is at the Summit County Board of Elections, 1050 E Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310
  • Early voting hours:
    • October 7-10: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • October 14-17: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • October 20-24: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • October 27: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    • October 28: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
    • October 29-31: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    • November 1: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    • November 2: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Vote on Election Day: November 4

To vote in person, you must show a photo ID

Your ID must have your name and photo.

You can only show an unexpired:

  • OH driver’s license
  • OH state ID card
  • US passport or card
  • US military ID card
  • OH national guard ID card
  • US Veterans Affairs (VA) card

Your ID address does not need to match your voter registration address. You can vote with an interim or suspended OH driver’s license.

 

What if I don’t have a photo ID?

●    You can vote by mail.
●    You can get a free Ohio state ID card from the Ohio BMV.
●    You can get free voter ID help from VoteRiders at VoteRiders.org/ohio.

What should I do if…

I have a disability and can’t physically enter the polling place

  • If you have a disability and can’t physically enter a polling place, you must still be allowed to vote.
  • You can vote using Curbside Voting, either in your car or at the door of the polling place.
  • A bipartisan team of election officials will assist you.
  • Election officials cannot question you about your condition.

I am an out-of-state college student voting in Ohio

  • You can vote by mail using the last 4 digits of your SSN.
  • You can vote in person using your passport or military ID.
    • Beware that if you already have another out-of-state ID and you get an Ohio ID, it will invalidate your other state ID. 

What if I am…

  • A military or overseas voter. You can follow the schedule and guidelines listed at MilitaryVotes.Ohio.Gov.
  • In the hospital. You can apply to vote absentee by mail until 3pm on Election Day.
  • In jail for a non-felony offense. You can vote!
  • Previously convicted of a felony and are no longer incarcerated. You can vote!
  • Currently incarcerated for a felony conviction. You cannot vote.
