State & County Election Security

State & County Election Security

I have questions about Oregon’s vote by mail system.

Oregon voters have voted by mail-in ballot only since 1998, and the state is recognized as a leader in secure and efficient voting processes.  Dede Murphy former County Clerk presented info on Election Procedures and Safeguards which protect against voting fraud in Coos County and the state of Oregon on September 24th, 2022.

A recording of this event is available to view on YouTube.

Part 1 - Presentation by Dede Murphy & Part 2 - Questions & Answers from the audience.

There is also a short video, entitled A Short Tour  by former League President, Carol Ventgen, explains how voting happens in Oregon and the many safeguards that are in place.  Filmed in 2021, the info is still a good overview of the system.
