THE JORDAN COVE ENERGY PROJECT
JCEP currently owned by Pembina (a Canadian based company) is seeking applications from local, state, and federal agencies to build a 229 mile pipeline across the state of Oregon from Maulin near the SE corner to a proposed LNG export terminal on the bay in Coos Bay. The 36" diameter pipeline with booster stations would be buried along a 95 ft. construction easement across mountains and ridges, under rivers and streams taking public as well as private lands with Eminent Domain to end up in Coos Bay.
From there the company plans to use horizontal directional drilling to drill under the bay at a depth of 190 ft. from the upper reaches of the bay to the town of North Bend where the pipeline will come up from under the bay and traverse above ground under the McCullough Bridge (main artery of transportation north & south on the Oregon coast), then back under the bay to the proposed export terminal. All this to export LNG to Asian markets and make a personal profit.
The links below will further explain what this project is about and why we oppose it:

LWVCC did not have their own recording capabilities at the time and therefore do not have a copy of the broadcast. However, all of the Individual Power Points and Presentations can be viewed on the January 31st link above.
