League of Women Voters of Delaware County and the League of Women Voters of Chester County and the Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC) is offering a two-part workshop for all PA school board candidates and interested voters to help prepare candidates running for the office of school board.

Part 1: Wednesday, May 5, 2021 via Zoom from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. will feature:

Roles and Responsibilities of School Board Members.

Overview of State Policy Issues Affecting School Boards.

Part 2: Thursday, May 6, 2021 via Zoom from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. will feature:

Creating a School District Budget.
Q&A with a Panel of Experienced School Board Members.

The workshop will be presented by Ron Cowell, who has led EPLC since 1999 following 24 years as a member of the PA House of Representatives. EPLC is an independent, non-partisan, and not-for-profit organization based in Harrisburg and has presented non-partisan school board candidate workshops since 1999. Ron Cowell is an experienced policy leader who also is a frequent speaker, writer, and consultant concerning education policy issues.
