The Arlington and Alexandria City League is a nonpartisan organization that conducts public forums on a wide array of issues of concern to the Arlington and Alexandria community. We also advocate for policy on positions established through internal study and democratic consensus. We do not take positions on candidates or political parties.

The Arlington and Alexandria City League focuses on tackling two major issues:

  • Voter Registration
  • Voter Education

  • Climate:  Most climate legislation is happening at the state level. If climate is your jam, join the LWV Climate Interest Group
  • Fighting Mis/Disinformation:  LWV Virginia in partnership with VerbAI has established a fact checking website, VerbaAI Election News, that uses AI to find political statements and check them against known and trusted sites, including Snopes and FactCheck.org. The website will be live though the November election and beyond. As a League member, you can be active in locating and submmitting questionable stories for review through the LWVVA Combat Mis/Disinformation website.

This year, it's important to verify your voter registration

Voter lists have been updated, and our local registrars recommend you verify your voter registration. Verify your voter registration at https://www.vote411.org/check-registration

Have you moved since your last election? Make sure you’re registered to vote with your new address at https://www.vote411.org/check-registration
