Great Decisions 2019 Week One will be Monday, January 28th at 7:00 PM at the Benicia Public Library, Dona Benicia room.

The topic for the first week is Refugees and Global Migration. Today no countries have open borders.
Every state in today’s global system has its own laws and policies about who is permitted to cross its borders, and how they will do so. Who determines whether someone is a refugee or a migrant? How have different countries including the United States,
reacted to migration? How effective are the international laws, policies and organizations that have
evolved to assist and protect refugees and migrants?

Come and view the Foreign Policy Association’s informative video and discuss the issues presented in the video and in the companion chapter provided in the FPA briefing book. Click on this link to find out more about the Great Decisions program: https://www.fpa.org/great_decisions/?act=gd_about2
