LWVNCSMC Business Meeting |
The Annual Meeting is the only business meeting for the general membership during the year. Your participation is important as we set the direction of the League during the next twelve months. All members of the League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County in good standing are delegates. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend, although they may not vote.
At this meeting the members will approve a budget, county and local programs, county issues for emphasis, and elect new board members to carry out these mandates.
Please bring your Annual Meeting kit that will be mailed to all members in May.
Speaker of the day Alice Smith, attorney, longtime civil rights activist, and founder of the nonpartisan National Voter Corps, will address the expansion and suppression of voting rights from our nation’s inception to the present. A woman of varied interests, Alice has volunteered and served with the ACLU, Human Rights Watch, CERT, Red Cross, LWV Palo Alto, and the Fortnightly Music Club. Early in her career she was an IBM Systems Engineer before she went to law school and raised a family. Need a fourth for bridge? Go ask Alice! |
