Attention Members, Our Public Schools Need Our Help

In recent months, parents have disrupted school board meetings and threatened school board members here in Orange County. The issues have included wearing masks, vaccinations, transgender student policies, and critical race theory.

There is no doubt that these are hot button issues. Parents are passionate about what is right for their children as they should be, but this is no excuse for these behaviors. Some School Board Members have added to the problem by their own behavior.

The League of Women Voters Orange Coast is committed to civil discourse at School Board meetings and believe that we can make a difference by having an Observer Corps member monitoring the meetings. To do this, we need our League members to step up and become a member of the Observer Corps.
