by Jone Pearce
You are cordially invited to an Open House at the Orange County Registrar of Voters on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4 to 7 p
Our Registrar of Voters is committed to insuring that Orange County elections are secure, fair, accurate, transparent, and accessible. The Open House will enable you to view the various secure steps we take when processing and tallying ballots during each election.
Members of the Registrar of Voters team will demonstrate and answer questions about the following processes:
- Collection and receiving of ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes, including chain-of-custody processes
- Vote Center ballot processing
- Ballot sorting and extracting
- Ballot signature comparison and review of ballots
- Duplication of damaged ballots
- Scanning and tabulation of ballots
- Pre-election and post-election Logic and Accuracy tests to ensure accuracy of all ballot scanners
- Hand counting of ballots from at least 1% of all precincts – randomly selected – to ensure the voting system tally is accurate
We hope that you will join the Registrar’s office to gain a better understanding of Orange County elections.
