Candidate Forum for Orange County District Attorney
The June 7, 2022 Primary Election is right around the corner. Join the League of Women Voters for a candidate forum for the office of Orange County District Attorney.
District Attorneys have great power in the criminal justice system. For instance, District Attorneys decide whether or not a juvenile should be tried as an adult. They are responsible for the prosecution of criminal violations, who gets prosecuted and how. This includes investigation and apprehension, as well as prosecution in court. The Board of Supervisors does not have operational control over elected District Attorneys.
