The Califronia state redistricting maps are now final. These will be the maps for Assembly, state Senate, the Board of Equalization, and Congress for the next 10 years. As we all look at the maps, there is a very wonky subject that is going to come up about the state Senate district lines. Attached below is a basic fact sheet courtesy of our state League.

State redistricting guidelines don't govern redistricting at local levels. For county supervisors, boards of education, school districts, city councils, community college districts, or other elected boards, state guidelines can easily be ignored in the redistricting process, especially without citizen participation.
