November’s Great Decisions Extension meeting will take place on Monday Nov. 9th at 7:00 PM via Zoom. We decided to postpone from the first Monday so that people who wish to participate in get out the vote activities will be free to do so. Regular attendees will receive a Zoom invitation from Niles a day or two before the meeting. We plan to discuss the election. If you wish to attend but have not been receiving Zoom invites please email lwvsolano [at] gmail.com to request an invitation from Niles Medders. Hope to see many of you. We should have a great deal to discuss.

 

The Foreign Policy Association has announced Great Decisions topics for 2021. The topics are:

Global Supply Chains and National Security, Persian Gulf Security Issues, Brexit and the European Union, Struggles Over the Melting Artic, China’s Role in Africa, The Korean Peninsula, Roles of International Organizations in a Global Pandemic, and The End of Globalization?

The Foreign Policy Association website has announced that they will make the video presentations available on You Tube while meeting in large groups is not possible. It does not seem likely that we will be able to meet at the library this winter. We can read the Briefing Book, watch the video on our own, and then meet via Zoom for discussion of the issues.
