Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
January 18, 2021

The U.S. Congress passed legislation designating the third Monday in January a federal holiday in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The bill became law in 1983.

In 1994, Congress called for Martin Luther King Day to become a national day of service. Since 1995, Martin Luther King Day has been observed as a "day on, not a day off" in honor of Dr. King's life of service.

We encourage you to participate in this important national day of service in whichever way you can and in line with Covid guidelines.
