District 3 Forum 1/15/21

Thursday, January 14, 2021 - 7:00pm to Friday, January 15, 2021 - 6:45pm

The Woodland League of Women Voters is hosting an informational forum for individuals who have applied to fill the recently vacated District 3 City Council seat. The individual selected by City Council well fill the seat for the remainder of the term ending in 2022.  The Council is using the appointment process because a special election could not be held until June, leaving District 3 unrepresented. An election would also cost the City at least $50,000 at a time when resources are needed to address the economic impacts of the pandemic.  The purpose of the forum is to provide additional transparency to the appointment process, giving Woodland residents the opportunity to hear from the applicants about their backgrounds, qualifications, and views so residents can provide input to the council regarding the appointment.  The League will be posing questions to the applicants and will also provide time for applicants to respond to questions from viewers. Questions from the community can also be submitted by email to woodlandleaguenews [at] gmail.com until January 13th.

The forum will be held on January 14 at 7:00 PM. It can be viewed live on Woodland TV Channel 21 or to join the forum webinar, type https://zoom.us/j/96461627676 into your web browser.

To Dial into the webinar by telephone:     1 (669) 900-6833          Webinar ID: 964 6162 7676

Residents also have the option of contacting the City Council through the City of Woodland website by sending a message to council members, or by submitting a comment to be read during the City Council meeting on January 19.
