Important: 2020 Census Information

2020 CensusOnce a decade, America comes together to participate in the decennial census. The U.S. constitution mandates that every person living in the United States be counted, including infants and children.

The census provides the basis for determining how many seats in Congress each State has, redrawing the lines of Congressional United States Census 2020districts to accurately reflect the distribution of the population in each state, and distributing billions of dollars in Federal funding to support vital state, county and community programs. Undercounts can significantly impact the allocation of dollars and the political landscape. The census count can shape the future of our communities, so it is very important that everyone respond.

Be countedThe 2020 Census is fast approaching. An invitation to respond will be mailed to households in March 2020. There are three ways to respond to the 2020 Census invitation. The preferable way is to respond online. This is the most cost-effective and efficient type of response. If you do not have access to a computer, you can call in your responses or receive a paper mail questionnaire.

Your responses are confidential. The census bureau is forbidden by law to release any of your personal information to public entities such as immigration enforcement agencies or law enforcement agencies. Your answers can only be used to produce statistics.
