In Case You Missed It: Sussex LWV Annual Meeting Notes
and Presentations Now Available
Sussex LWV held their annual meeting on June 6 via Zoom to discuss the organization's program plan for the upcoming fiscal year and to hear a presentation on offshore wind power. Martha Rothenberg and Barb Hedges-Goettl served as co-hosts, with Peggy Schultz presenting on offshore wind energy as a crucial component of Delaware's climate action strategy. The presentation covered the history of offshore wind projects, benefits including job creation and healthcare improvements, and common concerns about environmental impacts and visibility of turbines. You can view Peggy's presentation HERE.
Committee chairs then shared updates on their activities, including voter services, social policy, communications, and membership efforts. The conversation ended with a vote to approve the program plan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, focusing on voter services, immigration issues, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and coalition building. The overall meeting presentation is available to members HERE.

The Sussex County Constituent Services Guide is Back!
We are pleased to announce that the Sussex LWV has assumed responsibility for maintaining the Constituent Services Guide for Sussex County. The Guide lists names and contact info for County Council, State Legislators, State Officials, and national representatives and senators. It also provides lists of County and State offices and departments, points of contact, and phone/email contact information. This invaluable resource was originally created by the Sussex LWV; a few years ago, the County took on the responsibility of maintaining the data and printing the document. Ownership was recently returned to us, and we are rolling out a new online version that is available via computer or phone, and will be easier to keep current. Use the link below to view or download the latest version.
CAVEAT: due to limitations in the PDF format, internal links like the table of contents and "back to top" button will not function when viewing on a phone, but URLs and email addresses work just fine.
