Annual Meeting held 6/8 at Millsboro Library
The Sussex LWV's annual business meeting took place on June 8 at the Millsboro Library. Keynote Speaker Mrs. Bernice M. Edwards from First State Community Action Agency spoke about the importance of getting out the vote in underrepresented communities and the need for us to get out of our comfort zones to do so. In the business portion of the meeting, members heard from committee chairs and from former President Martha Rothenberg about what was accomplished in 2023-2024. (Martha has resigned due to her health.) Pat Petchel (LWVSCDE Treasurer) and Pat Newcomb (LWVDE Treasurer) shared information about the coming changes to the membership systems and the potential financial impact on local leagues.
