The Cape Gazette has published an article on women' organization's plans for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment.  That amendment, which granted women the right to vote, was passed thanks to extreme efforts by the suffragists.  Year long celebrations are planned to remember their struggle for voting rights. The League of Women Voters of Sussex County is planning on holding an event each month to celebrate the anniversary.  Our past president, Martha Redmond is quoted in the article.  Please click on the above link to read the article.
