After many Covid-related delays, the dedication of the Pomeroy/National Votes for Women Trail Marker in honor of Margaret White Houston has been scheduled for Saturday, October 23, at 11 am at the Georgetown Public Library.  After the dedication, there will be a reception hosted by the Friends of the Georgetown Library

Mrs. Houston was an early vice-president of the Delaware Equal Suffrage Association, a founder of the Georgetown New Century Club (which founded the town's original library), a suffrage activist for a quarter-century (1896 -1920), and Third Vice-President of the Delaware League of Women Voters when it began in 1920.

In February 2020, Anne M Boylan wrote a commentary on Margaret White Houston's important role in the suffrage movement.  That article can be found here.

Please join us in honoring Mrs. Houston by attending the marker dedication on the 23rd.
