The League of Women Voters of Roselle-Bloomingdale and League of Women Voters of Wheaton in partnership with the DuPage County Regional Office of Education hosted a webinar titled, “Helping Our Children Thrive: Bullying and Behavior in These Challenging Times” on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm via ZOOM.
Due to the pandemic, school-aged children and adults have been living in isolation for more than 18 months. That has created a higher incidence of anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges in our homes, schools, and the community at large. How can we best support our children and teens during this unprecedented and extremely challenging period?
Parents and community members need the most up-to-date information on bullying and other challenges we are seeing.
Our webinar featured Mary Ellen Young, a parent educator and bullying prevention specialist. Mary Ellen is a Service Provider to the DuPage County Regional Office of Education (ROE) where she trains school personnel on topics including restorative practices, bullying prevention, trauma, and social emotional learning.

- Explained how the DuPage County Regional Office of Education supports local school districts in bullying prevention and intervention, mental health, school climate, and social emotional learning.
