League of Women Voters members can volunteer for any of the following:
- Be a Voter Registrar at community or high school events
- Be a Judge of Election or Poll Watcher
- Be a Board Observer (watching and reporting on the actions of local government bodies)
- Participate in Candidate Forums as a trained moderator, or other behind-the-scenes functions
- Load and manage submitted election data for the Illinois Voter Guide and Vote 411
- Assist with Student Mock Elections for high school students
- Write letters to your representatives or to the local paper about issues you care about and what’s affecting your community
- Lead in advocacy roles for key issues on a local, state, or national basis
- Be a Board member and help steer the future of the League
- Recruit and engage members of the League
- Make meeting and speaker arrangements for League events
- Join the Communications team to publicize League activities and actions (includes publishing our member newsletter, posting on social media, and updating our website)
Note: Some of these positions require training.
