Shirley McDonald has served as the Membership Chair of LWVFC since retiring as a
mathematics teacher with Frederick County Public Schools in 2014. She has lived in
Fredrick County since 1979 and became involved in education issues in 1984 beginning
teaching at Windsor Knolls Middle in 1993. She currently serves as the treasurer for the
Frederick County School Retired Personnel Association and as President of a small
condominium association in Ocean City. She ran for Board of Education in 2016, making
it through the primary but not onto the Board. She enjoys watching both Board of
Education meetings and County Council meetings as well as reading mysteries, walking
on the beach and forgetting all of that exists.
