Be Informed. Vote Informed. Vote411

The League of Women Voters of Frederick County has completed work with the national and state Leagues to offer non-partisan candidate information through the online Voters' Guide at VOTE411.org. The League has a long tradition of publishing the verbatim responses of candidates to questions important to voters. The online database VOTE411.org can assist Maryland citizens as they prepare for the Primary Election on May 14 and the General Election on November 5.

The League's VOTE411.org platform is now available to voters throughout the world 24/7 through the interactive, community-specific online Voters' Guide. In September, an updated online Voters' Guide will be available for the General Election and the Frederick News-Post will print the Voters' Guide and distribute it with the paper. In addition, the League will make the printed Guide available at county libraries, senior centers and other locations. Find a copy of the Guide here: Frederick 2024 Primary Voters' Guide.

To produce the Guide, the League sent identical non-partisan questions to each candidate running for a particular office. Candidate responses appear at VOTE411.org, and later in the printed Guide, exactly as submitted. The League does not edit for content, spelling or grammar. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any candidate or political party.

The League invited candidates to respond to the League's questions in English and Spanish. At VOTE411.org, citizens can choose to read candidate info and answers in either language where the candidate has offered their answers in Spanish.

People who visit VOTE411.org can register to vote, check to see if they are already registered, find their local representatives, see what's on their ballot and more. Voters can now click the "Find What's on Your Ballot" button, enter their address and find every candidate and issue that will appear on their ballot, with the candidate responses to the League's questions in the candidate's own unedited words.

For many years, voters have looked to the League of Women Voters for fair and accurate information about candidates and their positions. Before the 2022 General Election, approximately 375,000 Maryland residents received the Voters' Guide or viewed candidate information on VOTE411.org or on the state League's website at lwvmd.org

The League of Women Voters of Frederick County is a nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League focuses on empowering voters and defending democracy, while working to increase understanding of major local, state and national issues.
