What the heck is “Line 5” and why do you care?
If you’ve listened to local news in the last few years, you’ve heard references to some controversies around “Line 5.” Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t know what the fuss is about. We’re all too busy! Here’s a chance to join neighbors for local micro-brews and conversation about the damaged 66-year-old pipeline that carries 22.7 million gallons of oil through 645 miles of Michigan, under hundreds of waterways, for export to Canada. Fresh water for 40 million people is at risk. Terri Wilkerson, the force behind the website RetireLine5.org, will bring you up to date and answer questions – no matter how basic!
Everybody welcome! Come at 6:30 to sample beer and talk with neighbors before the meeting begins at 7:00. Bring a neighbor or friend.
