Any person age 16 or older who subscribes to the purposes and policies of the League of Women Voters is eligible for membership.

Important News: Member renewal time is here. What's new this time?
Effective Feb 3, 2025, the League of Women Voters transitioned to a new membership platform called ChapterSpot. Members are now able to log in and update their own member information and renew online.
At the beginning of November 2025, many of us will receive our first membership renewal reminder from LWVUS. Those of you whose membership is expiring will be directed to renew through the LWVUS Member Portal. Using the member portal makes it easy to update your information and check on the status of your membership.
What’s different than renewing in previous years:
- You will renew through LWVUS, not our local chapter.
- Membership dues are now pay-what-you-can, beginning with a minimum of $20 and a suggested amount of $75. Higher dues payments assist those of our members who need to pay the lower amount.
- Family/household memberships are no longer available—each member of a household who wants to join needs to renew separately and provide an individual email.
- Memberships can be set up to renew automatically each year with a credit card.
What stays the same:
- Membership is for one year and includes membership at all three levels: local, state and national.
- Students will continue to be able to join for free. Email membership [at] lwv-wc.org for more information.
- League members who wish to pay their dues by check can still do so. Complete the membership form , attach a check made payable to LWVUS and mail it to: P.O. Box 3832, Ann Arbor, MI. 48106-3832.
Your email address will be your user name for ChapterSpot and each member must have a unique email address. If you don't use the internet to join or renew, you can continue to fill out a downloadable form, write checks for your dues payments and your League's roster manager can continue to input your information to the roster as needed.
