"Sorting out the isms: What is fascism, really? How about socialism?"  with EMU Political Science Professor Judith Kullberg

The terms “fascist” and “socialist” are thrown around in political debates and widely used on social media, but what do they really mean? Eastern Michigan political science professor Judith Kullberg will explore the origins and history of fascism and socialism to illuminate their significance for the 21st century.

Judith Kullberg is professor of political science at Eastern Michigan University.  She received her Ph.D. in comparative Russian politics from the University of Michigan.  Since the late 1980s, she has traveled extensively in Russia.  She conducted the first focus group research of Soviet elites, was a co-investigator in Harvard University’s Russian National Election Study, and a Fulbright Scholar in Samara, Russia.   She has also taught study abroad courses in El Salvador, Cuba, Guatemala and Russia.  In addition, she teaches courses on European politics, international relations, and American foreign policy.  Kullberg is currently president of the EMU chapter of the AAUP, and past president of the faculty senate.
