Lunch & Learn: Defending democracy has no off-season: LWVAAA members discuss the 2021 LWV MI convention

The League of Women Voters worked hard - locally, statewide, and nationally - during the 2020 election season as we dealt with new election processes amid the pandemic, and countered misinformation/disinformation on candidates and issues.

Here in Michigan, we barely had time to take a breath and congratulate ourselves for a well-run election under difficult circumstances before we were faced with new and serious challenges. The LWV Michigan convention gave those who went an opportunity to learn what's ahead for our local league and statewide in 2021.

Seasoned League members Betty Bishop and Sue Smerek and more recent recruits Catherine Murau and Shelley Schanfield will share what they learned at the convention and then, serving as moderator, Shelley will open the meeting to everyone for questions and discussion about how we will go forward.
