Monday, July 20 is the last day to register to vote or to update your registration online or by mail for the August 4 Election. Starting Tuesday, July 21 (through 8 p.m. on Election Day), you can only register to vote or update your registration by visiting your city or township clerk’s office, completing a registration application, and providing proof of residency. To register online, or to download a printable application, visit: MI.gov/vote.

In the wake of candidates ending their candidacy once ballots are already out, and once voters may have already voted, the Election Protection Program (EPP) put together the following guidance to share with voters on how they can get a new ballot and vote for a candidate that is still in the race.

On Thursday, June 25, a federal judge in Massachusetts blocked President Trump’s March 2026 executive order targeting mail-in voting and creating a national voter registration database, saying that this power is reserved for the states and exceeds both the scope of Presidential authority and the bounds of the USPS.
