Michigan's voter ID law requires every voter to verify their identity. Most in-person voters provide a photo ID, but those without a photo ID may verify their identity by taking an oath and signing a simple form called an affidavit.

Michigan voters have already had weeks to cast absentee ballots before the Nov. 8 election, but they can’t actually be counted until Election Day — which could delay some results until the following day.

Election Day is rapidly approaching! If you're voting from home, return your completed ballot as soon as possible. You can drop it off at your local clerk's office or satellite office or a secure drop box provided by your clerk.

Voting from home? If you want to return your completed ballot by mail, drop it in the mail by Tuesday, October 25, to be sure it arrives in time to be counted. After October 25, drop your completed ballot off at your city or township clerk's office or in your clerk's secure ballot drop box.

If you still need to register to vote, the easiest way to do so is online at MI.gov/vote. But you can only register online through October 24. Starting October 25, you'll have to register in person at your city or township clerk's office with proof of residency. More info at MichiganVoting.org.
