NewsSeptember 26, 2023 was a fantastic Day of Action in Lansing supporting the MI Clean Energy Bills pending in the Michigan Legislature.
League members Karen Schmitt from Marquette, Maria Woloson from Oakland County, Deb Freidman from Kalamazoo, and Sandy Sorini Elser from Washtenaw were among the hundreds of climate activists who attended.
Participants told legislators that now is the time to adopt Clean Energy laws that will require:
- 100% Clean Energy in the next 12-15 years, including more renewables like wind and solar
- Strict Energy Waste Reduction Standards
- The Michigan Public Service Commission to hold big utilities accountable for unreliable service, high costs and climate impacts.
