The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose candidates for office or political parties.  But, based on study and member consensus, the League DOES take positions on a variety of issues.  Based on these positions, the League works to educate the public and advocate for important issues.

• The value of a non-partisan civil service to democracy
• Statehood for the District of Columbia
• A constitutional crisis that requires holding Congress accountable for protecting the rule of law, defending the Constitution, and ending executive overreach
• Establishing the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact as an interim measure for eliminating the Electoral College
• Oversight, transparency, and accountability to protect individual privacy and constitutional rights from surveillance technologies
• Human trafficking as a violation of human dignity
