Kevin Mitchell, MPA, the Director of Children’s Services for Washtenaw County, and Jessica Ashmore, Deputy Director of the Washtenaw County Trial Court, Juvenile Division, will speak about the Washtenaw County juvenile justice reforms that have been in use for the last 3 months, including using a new screening tool.

 They will also discuss the implications of the use of these reforms at the Detention Center and connect their discussion to implementation of the new landmark “Kids & Communities Act.”
