OR House of Representatives Candidates for District 1
Bret Cecil and David Smith Brock have both completed interviews by Paula Bechtold, a League Of Women Voters of Coos County member. The interviews provide recorded answers to questions on a variety of topics relative to the District and to Oregon. Video recordings are now available for the public to view below or by visiting the League of Women Voters of Coos County YouTube channel.
This month's member to find herself in the Spotlight is Sandy Mueller. Sandy has a passion for Voter Registration, especially youth. You will often see Sandy at events with the QR code to register a voter, as in this picture.
Working with the Empowerment Club of Downers Grove North HighSchool, Sandy initiated a TicToc challenge to create a 60 second Tic Toc video on the importance of voting. GOTV at it's finest!

SAFE (Safe, Accessible & Fair Elections) Action Team
An increasing number of people found their way to League membership in 2020, most citing their reason for joining as concern about the state of US Democracy. In response, the League formed a committee called SAFE – safe, accessible and fair elections. The 12-15 members who joined the early fall 2020 meetings identified the two areas in which they wanted to focus:
