Voting rights are under attack across the nation. Legislators have introduced over 360 voter suppression bills in 47 states. Enough is enough.  A coalition of nonpartisan organizations including LWV of Downers Grove, Woodridge, and Lisle honored John Lewis's legacy by advocating for the passage of U.S. Senate Bill S1 For the People Act which eliminates voter suppression; U.S. House Bill HR4 the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and for removing the filibuster.

Both houses need to pass it by 75% in order for us (CT voters) to have the opportunity to vote on it in 2022. So we need your help to to reach every single legislator! Last year, 650,000 Connecticut voters cast an absentee ballot in the 2020 election - but this expanded access is not permanent without your help. Contact your State Senator and Representative today and tell them what a YES vote means to you.
