With the national premiere of an original playlet, The Big Debate, this event brings to life the fraught friendship and the competition for recognition between voting rights stalwarts Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony.

SAFE (Safe, Accessible & Fair Elections) Action Team

An increasing number of people found their way to League membership in 2020, most citing their reason for joining as concern about the state of US Democracy. In response, the League formed a committee called SAFE – safe, accessible and fair elections. The 12-15 members who joined the early fall 2020 meetings identified the two areas in which they wanted to focus:
