Before Friday, urge your legislators to do everything they can to ensure that the Connecticut Voting Rights Act (CTVRA) stays in the budget. The CTVRA is the nation’s most comprehensive state-level voting rights act. Yet, Connecticut voters face persistent barriers to equal participation for voters of color and people whose first language isn’t English. To remain the national leader and implement the CTVRA, Connecticut must adequately fund its protections in the 2025 biennial budget.

Once upon a time there was a very little girl who played the violin for pieces of coin on the streets of Rome. She played in what was known as the Jewish Ghetto so that all who came to pay their respects would be haunted by her music and offer her money. She also had a cat who would glare at the passers by, daring them not to pay her mistress for her music.
