Narragansett, RI — The League of Women Voters South County will host its Quarterly Meeting open to the public on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, 25 Pier Marketplace, Narragansett. The public program will be followed by a brief general meeting of the League.
The League is honored to host Secretary of State Gregg Amore and his Deputy Secretary Rob Rock to speak in the fourth "Find Your Civic Voice" series event. They will jointly address the current status of elections in Rhode Island, including emerging challenges and threats to voting rights. Their presentation will provide timely insights into election administration, voter access, and efforts to safeguard democracy.
The Secretary was elected to a four-year term in 2024, having previously been a Social Studies teacher at East Providence High School. Deputy Rock moved from Director of Elections to Deputy Secretary then. Both are dynamic and engaging speakers and are well regarded for their deep knowledge of election law and administration and will be available to answer questions from attendees.
"This program comes at a critical time for voters," said Christine Martone, the League of Women Voters South County President. "We are pleased to welcome the Secretary and Rob Rock to help our community better understand how elections work in Rhode Island and what is being done to protect the right to vote here."
The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Advance registration is requested and can be completed online at:
