For 20 years, Connecticut voters have led the way in showing what fair elections can look like. Let’s not allow one rushed decision to undo all that progress. Email or call Governor Lamont today and urge him to protect the independence of the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC) from political interference by vetoing SB 1405 as it is written now.

Before Friday, urge your legislators to do everything they can to ensure that the Connecticut Voting Rights Act (CTVRA) stays in the budget. The CTVRA is the nation’s most comprehensive state-level voting rights act. Yet, Connecticut voters face persistent barriers to equal participation for voters of color and people whose first language isn’t English. To remain the national leader and implement the CTVRA, Connecticut must adequately fund its protections in the 2025 biennial budget.

She played in what was known as the Jewish Ghetto so that all who came to pay their respects would be haunted by her music and offer her money. She also had a cat who would glare at the passers by, daring them not to pay her mistress for her music.
