In May 2019, the Town of New Castle launched a project to re-zone the Chappaqua Hamlet and create a form-based code. Traditional zoning ordinances regulate land use by dictating where certain uses (ie: retail, residential, industrial, etc.) can occur. By comparison, a form-based code considers how zoning relates to infrastructure, parking, open space, and design/architecture, among other topics, and focuses more on the "form" of the building, as opposed to mandating its use.

Join the League of Women Voters of New Castle and the Town of New Castle for a presentation on this project. Ask questions and learn more about how the form-based code will impact the future of the Chappaqua hamlet.
