Joining the League is a great way to play an active role in your community and in our democracy! Everyone is welcome, women and men - membership in the League of Women Voters is open to anyone 16 years or older.
When you join the League of Women Voters Utica-Rome Metropolitan Area, you are also joining the national, state and local Leagues. Thirty-three percent of your dues payment will go to LWVUS, forty-seven percent will go to LWV New York, and twenty percent will go to LWV Utica-Rome.

Membership Dues:
- Individual members: $75 per year is the recommended amount but you can pay more or less ($20 minimum). Pay whatever best fits your budget.
- You can add a second member ($150 total for both recommended, $40 for both minimum), but they each will need to provide a unique email address.
- Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.

Making Payments
- The preferred payment option is a direct bank transfer (ACH transfer), which minimizes fees. You’ll need your financial institution's routing number and your account number.
- You also have the option to pay by credit or debit card.
- If you are not comfortable making payments online, see Offline Join/Renewal section below.
- You will receive an online confirmation and an email receipt for your payment.
The email receipt will show the 20% of your dues going to our local League. - Your membership dues payment will show up as three transactions on your account — one each to LWV Utica, LWVNY, and LWVUS. You’ll be a member of all three!
- Keep things simple by automatically renewing each year! Just select auto-renewal when you are paying your dues.

Making Donations
- You will have 3 options to make a donation to LWV Utica-Rome when paying your dues. The first option on the Dues page will allow the donation to be shared with LWVUS and LWVNY, or you can make a donation directly to LWV Utica-Rome alone on the following screen in the Dues section.
- The 3rd option is to make a tax-deductible donation to LWV Utica-Rome on this link. DONATE TO US. If you use this option remember to direct your payment to our League.

Renewing Your Membership
Accessing the LWV Member Portal
To update your contact information or view your past payments, go to the LWV Member Portal.
To log in to the portal:
- Enter the email address associated with your membership.
- You will be sent an email with a verification code to enter the code into the form. (You do not need a password.)

Offline Join/Renewal
Members are encouraged to join and renew through the online join/renew form when possible, but members can still join and renew offline. At this time, offline members can only pay by check. The check should be made out to LWVUS. The Membership Form should be completed and mailed with the check to:
