Upcoming Election

 Be an informed voter.  Learn what's on your ballot.  


General Primary Election: March 17, 2026

  • December 17, 2025: First day to apply for a vote by mail ballot.

  • February 5, 2026: First day to vote early or by mail.

  • February 17, 2026: Last day for regular (paper) voter registration.

  • February 18, 2026: First day of grace period for in-person voter registration and voting at election authority and early voting sites; continues through Election Day.

  • March 1, 2026: Last day for online voter registration. Grace period registration is still available at election authority and early voting sites.

  • March 12, 2026: Last day for election authority to receive vote by mail applications.

  • March 17, 2026: Primary Election Day! Polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

  • General Election Day is November 3, 2026.

A note on the minimum voting age:
Any citizen who will turn 18 years old by or on the General Election day is entitled to vote even if the voter is only 17 years old at the time of the Primary.

As of 2023, Illinois State law allows 16 year olds to pre-register to vote. 

How to Vote Vote by Mail 

All registered voters in DuPage County are eligible to Vote by Mail. Apply online. Once a mail ballot has been returned to the Board, it cannot be retrieved or withdrawn. 

  • Wednesday, December 17 |  Applications for Vote By Mail ballots open online, in person or by mail.
  • Thursday, February 5 | First day of mailing or delivery of Vote By Mail ballot.
  • Thursday, March 12 |   Last day for vote by mail request to be received by the Election Authority.
  • Tuesday, March 17 |  Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day.

Vote Early

If you are unable to vote on Election Day or just want to skip the lines, vote early. Find your early voting location. Early voting ballots are final. You can also register to vote at every early voting site.

  • Wednesday, February 5 |  Early Voting & Registration opens at the office of the election authority.
  • Monday, March 2 | Early Voting & Registration at locations throughout DuPage County.
  • Monday, March 16 |  Last day of Early Voting

 

Vote on Election Day — Tuesday, March 17, 2026

Find your voting location. The location of your polling place may have changed. Polling place hours are 6 am to 7 pm If you are in line by 7 pm, you are entitled to vote.

No ID is required to vote in your home precinct on Election Day unless you are voting for the first time and have registered by mail without verification. ​

Research Your Ballot

Voters will vote for a candidate for United States Senate and Congress, as well as state and county positions. Voters must declare a party in order to vote in this election.
