Vote-by-Mail Voting
Vote-by-mail ballots for the November 3, 2026, General Election will be available approximately 60–90 days before Election Day, depending on your county election authority. All registered voters in DuPage County are eligible to vote-by-mail. Apply online. Once a mail ballot has been returned to the Board, it cannot be retrieved or withdrawn.
- Ballots are mailed once they are certified and printing is complete
- Availability and mailing dates may vary by county
- Voters are encouraged to apply early once applications open
Early Voting
Early voting for the General Election typically begins several weeks before Election Day and continues through Election Day at designated locations. If you are unable to vote on Election Day or just want to skip the lines, vote early. Find your early voting location. Early voting ballots are final. You can also register to vote at every early voting site.
Voter Registration Deadlines
- Regular voter registration closes several weeks before Election Day
- After that, grace period registration and voting is available through Election Day at election authority offices and early voting sites
- Online registration closes shortly before the election, but exact dates are set by the Illinois State Board of Elections each cycle
A note on the minimum voting age:
Any citizen who will turn 18 years old by or on the General Election day is entitled to vote, even if the voter is only 17 years old at the time of the Primary.
As of 2023, Illinois State law allows 16-year-olds to pre-register to vote.
Vote on Election Day
Find your voting location. The location of your polling place may have changed. Polling place hours are 6 am to 7 pm If you are in line by 7 pm, you are entitled to vote.
No ID is required to vote in your home precinct on Election Day unless you are voting for the first time and have registered by mail without verification.
Research Your Ballot
Voters will vote for a candidate for United States Senate and Congress, as well as state and county positions. Voters must declare a party to vote in this election.
