LWVC Water Interest Group discussion with Susana De Anda

California Water: Over-promised. Over-delivered. Solutions?

The League of Women Voters of Southwest Santa Clara Valley hosted Felicia Marcus to share the latest information to help answer questions about California’s water challenges, availability, equity, and solutions. Ms. Marcus is currently the Landreth Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Water in the West Program, former chair of the California Water Board, former Regional Administrator of the U.S. EPA Region IX, and previous chair of the Los Angeles Department of Public Works (where she managed wastewater, water and solid waste recycling, and stormwater management). Felicia Marcus participated in and spoke at recent conferences like the United Nations Glasgow Climate Change Conference (COP26) and UNESCO Megacities Conference in Paris. This webinar was recorded February 12, 2022.

Forecasting Urban Water Demand in California Webinar

Heather Cooley, Pacific Institute’s Director of Research, gave a presentation on new research on urban water use trends and demand forecasting in California. She also highlighted state policies affecting future urban water use and provided practical guidance for evaluating these forecasts to ensure they account for new and emerging trends and minimize adverse environmental impacts and affordability concerns.
