NewsWith the announcement of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders's campaign suspension, New York may cancel the presidential primary election. The New York State budget included a provision for the board of election commissioners to omit candidates who have suspended their campaign. The commissioners now have the option to cancel the primary if they deem it appropriate. The next time the commissioners are scheduled to meet is April 27th. We will provide more information about the potential primary cancellation as it becomes available.
