Humboldt County

The 4th of July election results are in!

Thank you to the 555 total voters who participated in our League of Women Voters of Humboldt County sticker selection election on July 4, 2025 at our Arcata and Eureka booths!!!

The results are:

For the youth vote (ages 3-17):

  • 39% of the voters cast their votes for sticker #6

  • 22% of the voters cast their votes for sticker #2

Since both stickers featured the beloved Bigfoot, that can be considered a BIG BIGFOOT win!!!

For the adult vote (ages 18-110):

  • 30% of the voters cast their votes for sticker #5

  • 17% of the voters cast their votes for sticker #2

Adult voters outnumbered youth voters approximately 2 to1. Considering the total vote count for youth and adult votes, the overall winner was sticker #5.

Note:  the adult vote was more split than the youth vote, and did not favor Bigfoot.  However, looking at the total voter results, 22% of ALL voters supported one of the Bigfoot designs. To this election analyst, this is a decisive win overall for the up and coming Bigfoot!!!

Conclusions:  If the number of youth voters increases, Bigfoot could be the winner!  Voting will be extended to include voters at the North Country Fair on September 20 and 21.  Youth voters, if you love Bigfoot, get out there and support them!
