LWV-PA Voter Hotline: (626) 798-0965
During every election cycle, the LWV-PA phone line lights up with call after call coming in from frazzled would-be voters. And every election cycle we are blessed to have Jody Kenney valiantly fielding the calls. This year she is going to get some help!
LWV-PA is announcing a voter hotline to assist callers during the early voting period and on Election Day. The voter hotline will be operational from October 24 to November 2 between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Phone coverage on November 3, Election Day, will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
We have created the capacity to field five calls simultaneously, and coverage will be split into shifts to allow for more volunteers and avoid fatigue. Volunteers will be able to select their shifts to ensure their availability and provide maximum phone coverage. Volunteers will work from home using phones provided by the League.
Volunteers will attend a mandatory three-hour virtual training session (with many breaks and lots of pictures). The training is designed to ensure that volunteers are sufficiently skilled at navigating several websites to answer voters’ questions accurately. Volunteers must have access to internet connectivity and a desktop, laptop, or smart phone to navigate the various websites easily and reliably. Training via Zoom will be held on:
- Monday, October 19, 5:00–8:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 20, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 20, 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Please email voterservices [at] lwv-pa.org by Thursday, October 1, to volunteer. Subject: Voter Hotline. Volunteers will then be asked to sign up for a training date and select their shifts.
