URGENT ACTION ALERT 3/16/2021, League of Women Voters Ann Arbor Area
Michigan’s Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) by law must issue Enbridge the permit necessary to continue plans for a Line 5 tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac.
HOWEVER, the Detroit District of the Army Corp of Engineers and the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) BOTH CAN DENY the additional necessary permits.

The LWV Michigan supports Governor Whitmer’s and Attorney General Nessel’s actions to terminate and permanently revoke the easement that allows Enbridge Line 5 (a Canadian Oil and Natural Gas Liquid Transport Pipeline) to operate in the Straits of Mackinac.
